Description

Solid cast brass standard size sash window lock. The latch base measures 2 9/16" in length and 7/8" in width with the catch measuring 2 1/2" in length and 9/16" in width. This sash lock is available with our living antique patina. Left unlacquered, this natural oiled finish will develop highlights with use and age gracefully, just like the antique originals.

Hardware Tip

Double Hung: Double hung windows have top and bottom sashes that slide up and down to open or close.

Solid is an Understatement

These sash locks are above and beyond anything I ever expected. It is so hard to find some decent quality sash locks these days without going to a salvage place or antique store but then the condition of these things are always hit or miss. These things are SOLID. And plus, you don't have to spend hours stripping off layer after layer or God-Knows-What on 100 year old window hardware. They actually have some weight to them and install is about as straight forward as it gets. If you can find the center of something and use a flat head screw driver then you can put these things on a window. Overall, for the price (original sash locks here in Chicago can be $20+ easy) these things blend in PERFECTLY with the original windows and look like they were always there. I'll be ordering another 10+ when I get the other windows restored which takes a bit of time.
