Replacement hardware

Comments:

Replacement hardware for an antique desk. If you are missing hardware pieces to an antique desk and unable to duplicate, this seemed like a good option. Very close in design too. I will antique with solution.

Reprentatives That Really Help

Comments:

I called with questions about matching or coordinating a handle with existing back plates. Steve (210) was so helpful and giving me detailed instructions and steering me to various selections to help narrow down the process of finding a fitting handle as well as achieving the correct color. He was truly interested in my seemingly small project and provided a great deal of expertise and advice.

You Decide

Comments:

I purchased these pulls due to their lower price. Finely finished pure brass pulls have become very expensive and these appear to be an acceptable alternative. Well, maybe. First you must clean them. Not a big deal but they still have polishing grit on them when they arrive indicating they're handled very quickly at the manufacturing site. Second, these pulls DO NOT have protective lacquer applied. In fact when I handled them, they began staining where my fingers touched them within hours. So I polished them and sprayed a polyurethane coating on them. I didn't have gloss so I used semi-gloss which was a poor choice for an item that should show a beautiful glow. But I think I was most disturbed by their edges. They showed a roughness on the edges and if you're going to take time to clean that up then it's not worth purchasing. Get the more expensive ones instead. I chose to leave the edges alone deciding it wasn't that bad and if you look at my low-boy photo which is attached you can see the edges are not visible. I also thought I might replace them at a later date with the more expensive, but better improved pulls. But look at the photo. They're not bad. You just can't compare them to the expensive pulls for overall quality.
