A definite conversation piece

Comments:

I use it to prop open a transom door to allow the look of a transom yet keep air flow moving through that area.

Better than I imagined.

Comments:

I rebuilt the entry on my 1936 house and added a transom above the 82"" double entry doors. In looking for ways to open and close the transom I found this reproduction of a vintage operator. Surprisingly easy to install and it works to hold my rather heavy transom window at any angle within the operating range (opens to about 45-degrees), and to close it rather securely without an additional latch. The oil-rubbed bronze finish seems more durable than other similar finishes and it operates smoothly and solidly. Very happy with this purchase.

Great Transom Operator- very high quality

Comments:

As an owner of a 150 year old restored Victorian, house of antique hardware cannot be beat. This product looks and performs better than the original ever could.

HoAH is selling something they don't understand

Comments:

This item is a headache. There are 100 caveats on the min/max dimensions of your transom window for this thing to work, none of which are listed in the description. Additionally, customer service on this item is terrible...the installation instructions are extremely basic, and the hardware specialists can't answer basic questions about how this thing works/is supposed to be installed. We have moderate height transom windows sunk moderately in the frame, with moderate width casing, on center-pivot hinges...this arm rubs in 5 different places, and there's no way to make it work.

I highly recommend this product

Comments:

Use this product for transom window about 3 times a week.

Much like the original transom operators in our 1915 home

Comments:

Our home has four original transom windows. These were essential in 1915 to allow both privacy for the berooms and cross-ventilation in our American Four Square. The new unit coordinates with chrome fixtures in an updated bathroom.

Perfect for operating those transom windows

Comments:

We haven't installed yet, but they are exactly what we were looking for.

So glad to find unlacquered brass! (patina coming)

Comments:

Unlacquered and unique.

The product is very good, I had trouble closing the transom. It was very stiff to close, but easy to open
