Description

Spare but always stylish, the New York latch set suits any screen door. Beautiful, durable and finely crafted from forged brass, it features a true mortise latch with a sliding privacy lock. A long spindle makes this a great choice for thicker than usual screen doors, while the low-profile interior lever makes it suitable for tight jambs.

This set is designed for use on wood screen doors opening in or out from 7/8" - 1 3/4" in thickness. For thinner doors, simply trim the spindle to the desired length. The backset is 1 1/2".

Dimensions: Backplates - 4 3/8" H x 1 1/4" W. Exterior Knob - 1 5/8" diameter. Interior Lever - 2 1/8" L x 1 1/8" projection. Mortise latch case - 2 1/16" H x 1 15/16" W x 9/16" thick. Latch faceplate - 3 3/4" H x 3/4" W.

a little slight

Comments:

I purchased two of these locksets for a pair of screen doors on my porch. They did look just like the picture, but they are very slight. Be very aware of the size, a normal sized hand dwarfs this handle. I have to use two fingers to open it, it is very awkward to use and I will eventually have to replace it! I can not say this is anyones fault but my own. But the pictures are a bit deceiving.

Could use an upgrade

Comments:

Have used apx 20 of these doors sets so far for my custom screen doors - 100% of customers complain about the size of the interior handle - I also must use a special lubricant to make the mechanism work properly - it is the best option on the available market for the historic period of my doors - ps - you'd love the custom doors I'm making for Phoenix historic homes...

Comments:

Great product, i use these alot , but the knob and lever are VERY small.

Door latch set with 1 1/2"" backset.

Comments:

Linen cabinet. Needed hardware similar to regular size door only smaller. Worked out great. The Antique Brass finish was just right. You'll need to mortis the door.

Great team, excellent service; knew exactly what I needed

Comments:

I had to do an exchange as I bought the wrong part initially. The team handled everything with no problem. The new piece is fine and will provide many years of service.

It solved the problem better than I'd ever hoped.

Comments:

Years of trying to fix the old one, and this works way better than any of my previous attempts to repair! The front screen door works like I suppose it did when it was new! I did have to spray some white lithium inside it to get it to work smoothly, that was a problem. But that fixed it. Silly to say I'm overjoyed, but I sort of am. It didn't take too long at all since the customer service had warned me about having to modify the mortise since they are all unique. That was true, but I solved it pretty easily cutting a block and a negative space inside the block, slide it in to the now smaller hole, and viola. The customer service is outstanding

Long Island home stays in style

Comments:

Have a 75 yr. old bungalow on South Shore with original storm doors that are unique. The new knob and latch not only work and fit very well but look better than the (broken) item it replaced. When we put in replacement entry doors will definitely look here for something to suit the style and period of our home. Item is well crafted[...]

Lovely Lock Set

Comments:

My customer has a 75 year old screen door that we were able to repair and refinish in keeping with the style of their Oak Park, IL. home. We needed a lock set in keeping with the style. We were able to find it at House of Antique Hardware. My customer was thrilled when I returned with her door and installed it. It should now last another 75 years!

More quality control needed

Comments:

I have used over 20 of these door sets for my custom screen doors. The mechanism needs a lot of lubricant, the door top plates don't always line up with the mechanical box ( can tell this by my router jig ) and the decorative plate holes shouldn't line up from opposite sides - you need to run the screws in at an angle so they do not conflict with each other - still these are the best door sets I have found for my application but there was a huge learning curve needed to install them properly. Also - every client has complained about the interior handle being much too small - I agree 100%.

Nice but please include an instructions.
