Purchased these door knobs and matching back plates for replacement of 1925 original worn and battered sets. They are such an improvement, look just beautiful. Simple installation by my amateur handyman boyfriend. I am so happy with this purchase and plan to replace more sets soon!

Purchased two sets of these to replace the original tiny 1940 vintage door knobs on our front & back doors (seriously - did people used to have tiny hands back then??!). Because the old lockset has a split-shaft (to allow the inner knob to turn independently of the outer knob), I could not use the threaded shaft that came with these. The threads on these appear to be metric - close to original, but not close enough. Had to run a 3/8"" coarse thread tap through each one to get them to work on the original shafts. Apart from that, these are a huge improvement!!
