Description

This large size light fixture ceiling accent uses a classic Colonial Revival rope border to go well with plain or decorative styles. The 4" center hole will allow mounting with almost any chandelier, pendant or semi-flush lighting with a canopy larger than four inches.

Crafted from a specially formulated polyurethane resin and with historically accurate detailing, medallions can bring an added level of sophistication to any home or business. They are lightweight, durable, easy to install, maintenance free, and come with none of the problems associated with plaster. Medallions come with a factory applied flat white base and can be painted, fan finished, or even gold leafed.

Hardware Tip

Polyurethane ceiling medallions are easily installed with polyurethane or silicone adhesives. You can also use finish nails or screws and then fill the holes with caulk or spackling.

Ceiling Medallion

Comments:

Good quality piece. Looks great on our dining room ceiling.

Perfect for what we were looking for!

Comments:

We are using this medallion in the master bedroom of a new residence we are building and it is perfect for the space! We wanted something classic that would work well with the modern elements of our design and the simple elegance of this medallion is going to mesh beautifully with the other trim and look phenomenal once we get it all plastered!

Pretty disappointed

Comments:

I shopped around for the right ceiling medallion and convinced myself that the medallion offered at House of Antique Hardware was a superior product to other similar products available. I was less sure of that when I received the delivery and looked carefully at the medallion. I understand it is produced with a casting process but I was surprised at the number of pock marks on the visible surface (not the side that attaches to the ceiling). Nevertheless, I diligently painted and sanded the surface to remove the blemishes as best I could. I was pretty happy with the result until I was in the process of attaching the medallion to the ceiling. I noted that I could not get the medallion to mount flush to the ceiling, no matter what I tried. Perplexed, I placed the medallion on the dining room table to see if the medallion was flat across the mounting surface. It was not even close to being flat. In fact, only about one-half of the medallion's outer edge sits flat; the other half has an uneven edge that produces a gap ranging from 1/8"" to 3/8"" off the surface. I wish I had noticed this earlier in the process of preparing it for installation. It has now six coats of paint and a lot of my time invested in what should have been a simple paint-and-install project. I debated what to do, but decided to move ahead with the installation. I have started the process of using a filler to hide the gaps along the outer edge. Because of the size of the gap, I expect it to be a multi-step process. Needless to say, I am disappointed with this product. I would have thought that quality control would have been focused on the fit-and-finish of something like a ceiling medallion. I doubt very much that most do-it-youselfers anticipate having to put this much effort into finishing and installing a ceiling medallion.
