Solid Brass Mail Slot Hood For Open Back Plates

My kid forgot their key and their friend stuck their arm through my mail slot and unlocked my from door knob and top lock. This solved the issue, reduces air coming in and looks good. I wasn't sure if I could fit the original surround over it and was pleased to find out that I could.

I needed to replace the indoor mail slot and this was better that I expected. Great purchase.

I didn't realize I would have such a hard time finding something like this after purchasing my house with an HOA that requires a brass mail slot on the front door. The previous owners had an exterior flap installed on the inside, which the mail lady quickly informed me made it very difficult to slide the mail in.. This hood was the perfect solution for the interior to maintain privacy. And it's been nice not having crushed/crinkled mail dangling from the mail slot every day!

The mail slot thing on the inside of my new old house was scratched to shreds by prior owners dog. Never though I'd find a replacement. But here is is! Perfect and exactly like what is there now. Without the scratches!

The mail slot hood covers the slot in our door completely, preventing anyone from peeking through the door. The quality of the item feels like it will last a lifetime. Once it is installed, mail slides easily through the opening.

The privacy shield was just as described. It was easy to install and is well made. I'm very happy with it.

Our mail slot is about 3 feet high on the door, and so I had to install the shield very low to block the view into our house. As a result, the shield barely covers the top of opening on the inside, and it still allows someone on the outside a limited view of our foyer and living room floor. This would not be a problem if a) our slot were lower to the floor, or b) the slot was narrower. This is not the fault of the shield, just be aware of the limitations if your slot is high off the floor and somewhat large.
