A good product for the price
Comments:
Overall, this is a very nice product. It's fairly well made and has a nice finish and it was very close to the lock I had to replace, so I didn't have to do a lot of modification to fit it in. However I don't like the fact that the key is able to spin 360 degrees in the lock. With the old lock the key was only able to turn 90 degrees the right making it easy to unlock and keep unlocked.

Grandpa's Roll Top Desk Lock
Comments:
Used this to fit into the existing slot on a desk that was once my grandfather's, and while the fit was not perfect, it is out of sight and close enough. Most importantly, it works! It locks and the 3xisting faceplate only required a little filing to get the new key to fit through and work. Now I can lock the roll top, and keep the kids from fiddling with the papers I have out to work on. Also, I think grandpa would be proud to see me using his desk and it working properly.
great to find a replacement for our old roll top desk.

replaced a broken lock on the desk, now my husband won't lock himself out of the desk
I can now lock my desk!

This new lock and key works just fine. While the bottom plate holes were not in line with holes in desk, I just used the old plate. The locking device worked great with old plate, and I received 3 keys for the lock. I am so happy that I can now lock my roll top desk.
It fit perfect!

I can finally lock my desk.
Lock worked in 100 year old desk
Comments:
Lock had correct dimensions for 100 year old roll top desk. The casement is very thin which was required. The selvedge face plate of the lock had to be filed down to fit the original cutout, but the brass was easy to work with.
Perfect for my antique rolltop desk
Comments:
I found an antique rolltop desk circa early 1900s, but the old lock was broken. This lock was a perfect replacement and with a minor adjustment it fit perfectly. The keys were handsome, also.
