Description

This sturdy spindle is designed to facilitate fixed doorknobs with threaded shanks of 16 TPI that don't operate a latch. Typically used on closet, pantry, or French doors, it's constructed of solid steel, and features a 7mm thickness.

Dimensions: 1 1/8" L x 7mm thick. 16 TPI. Base: 1" D x 1/16" thick.

Hardware Tip

If you need a threaded spindle you need to know what the threads per inch are and check to see that the spindle thickness is small enough to fit through the hub of your lock or latch.

Dummy Spindle not dumb at all

These non-standard dummy spindles proved perfect for my French doors. The big stores don't have them.

Good by pricey

They work great. The client had bought some knobs from India and this was the only thread pattern I could find that worked. I do think these things are overpriced but it is what it is.

Hard to find, does the trick!

We wanted to use an existing set of spindle doorknobs (which match others in the house) as dummy knobs for our closet doors (which do not need to latch). These spindles do the trick, and no one else had them.

The key to great re-purpose projects

I kept looking at ""gonna-do"" items that needed some key factor . This dummy spindle was it.Paved the way to door knob birdhouses ,bath towel racks,lipstick checkers , and so on.

Thought I would never find it!

I had some old door knobs and they were so beautiful I wanted to display them somehow. So I went online looking for dummy spindles and looked and looked and looked....finally I found House of Antiques!!!!! They had exactly what i was looking for !!!!! I made a coat hanger out of my beautiful door knobs!!!
