French Country Dummy Strap With Fleur De Lis Motif

Was very impressed with the quality and craft of these hinge straps. They were far more hefty than I expected, which is great! The size and mass of these really impart a feeling of historical accuracy; I know they're just dummy straps, but they really look they might be real. Also the product photo does not do justice to the finish - I expected a smooth finish (but wanted a hammered finish not available in the size/style strap selected) - these had a nice hand-made look to them. Will simply be painting to match my other door hardware - I do not need to mimic a hammertone look.

I used the dummy hinges on my upper barn door to look like I used real expensive ones. I painted the original hinges to match the trim on the wood. This camoflaged them well. I then put one dummy hinge above the real one and the other dummy hinge below the other one. You can't tell the difference unless you go very close. Looks great from a distance, and I saved a lot of money.
