Cast-Iron Knob and Latch Set

I'd like this product in black powder coated steel!

It's beautifully done but it's very difficult to install. When looking on the website it's not clear that you need to make a hole on the window to install it.

Quality look. Ease of installation. Latch snap off as locked door moved in the wind.

This latch set is sturdy and ornate, a great value for the price. They are also intriguing. Everyone who has seen them has to explore them up close. The knobs only turn about half an inch, just enough to lift the latch. The locking mechanism is simple and works well. Mortising the catch into the opposing jamb takes just a bit of experience. The rest is just drilling one 3/4 inch hole and a few small screw holes.

I live in a large log home in the mountains of North Carolina and I also own 1906 historic apartment in Wilmington, NC. I have bought several door related hardware and other accessories of House of Antique Hardware.

The handle was machined tightly, which means sung fit initially, which is perfect, I would take that over loose any day. Order of operations matters when installing it on a door.

Needed a rim latch for an original, 3/4"" thick wood panel door in my house and wanted something with a bit of whimsy. This set fit the bill! The directions are text-only, and the package seems to contain a dizzying number of components, but once laid out on the table and the assembly given a ""dry run"", it was simple and easy. The most 'exotic' tool required is a 1/2"" dia. drill bit or hole bore.

I built old style barn doors for my house. The knobs I ordered look awesome on them.

Installed on Blue Pine doors I custom built. I had a easy time installing, but someone with less skill might have a harder time. Instructions need better hole sizes listed.
