Very well made, each one is consistent in size. A quality product that should not be over looked.

Good representation of quality; but I'd like to add that this type of hinge does not allow for horizontal or vertical adjustment and can prove tricky for those not accustomed to perfectly install the door the first time. That said, most experienced craft-people are used to that limitation and can achieve a perfect fit without a problem.

When it comes to hinges that can be used for transom windows, these knock the competition out of the park. Many other options that I have come across and even purchased online may have been cheaper, but were not nearly as well crafted as the solid hardware available from HAH. Pros: Extremely well crafted (solid material with screws that nestle in the hinges), professional finish that improves over time (other antique-by-hand hardware purchased over the years is still looking great!), period appropriate (subtle design perfectly suits the transom windows in our Folk Victorian home) Cons: If used as a closed hinge (i.e., folded in on itself) for a transom window, pay close attention to the natural gap the hardware makes when closed (~1/8""). You may choose to mortise the frame where you intend to house the hinges for a tighter complement. If used as an open hinge (i.e., one part of the hinge is mounted to a transom door frame, and the other part of the hinge is mounted to the transom window frame), then you won't have to worry about this gap at all. Do not hesitate to buy these hinges; they are truly a superior product as compared to many similar products online!

I was building a Stickley-type cabinet, quarter sawn oak, matching design details to Stickley furniture that I own, and needed a simple, yet strong, cabinet door hinge. These came in several finish options, and the flat black was perfect. The hinge was almost a perfect match to hinges on the existing Stickley furniture.

Without reservation the quality is excelllent -but- one has to ask at what price is it too much to pay for simple non-etched, no design, small to medium sized plain hinge? I think I reached that point when I bought these hinges in a moment of desperation as I was in a time crunch. [$] for 10 hinges is stretching the obsurd. Hinges on a cabinet should not exceed the cost of the wood to make it.

Sizes of the mortising was the same on every hinge. I installed 9 pair with no problem in 4 hours with a custom jig I made in my shop. Gaps and reveals were consistent with one another that tells me I had a well crafted hinge.
