Description

This classic Key Hole Insert (5/8-Inch) is a favorite for Colonial-Revival style furniture and cabinets. Its simple design is finely cast in solid brass, a great choice for desks, armoires, and hutches. The polished finish is left unlaquered, allowing it to age gracefully, just like the antique originals.

Dimensions: 5/8" Inside Height. 3/4" Outside Height.

Hardware Tip

Stamped: Process of forming brass or other metals by using a thin sheet and pressing or stamping it into a mold. Stamped is the same as pressed or wrought and is thin compared with forged or cast.
WARNING: California Proposition 65

Beautiful Addition to Old Chest Drawers

Comments:

I refinished an old childhood chest of drawers. Each drawer had a key-hole. The keyholes were very plain so I thought adding some bling might be cool. I found these key-hole inserts and they look great. Instead of hiding the old non-descript key-holes I decided to enhance them. Perfect!

key hole insert

Comments:

The key hole insert arrived very quickly and was just what we needed to match up with others that were still in the key holes of an antique chest

Matched the original

Fit good and matched the original

Performed well

Used these inserts for drawers in a reproduction Dolly Madison table. Very good quality and look when installed. Dresses up the drawer very well.

Solid brass keyhole insert

Comments:

Just like in 1820

Worked for what I needed

Comments:

Was beautiful rich color. Looked handmade. Reason I gave 3 stars was because I ended up haveing to drill & notch out the back side of the escutcheon and clamp & glue it to fit into the original keyhole because it came as one solid, mishapen piece. Had to do alot of extra work to make it fit. Had it been inverted on the backside and thinner it would have fit like the original piece. Maybe try a different mold? Size keyhole was right. Just needs some tweeks in casting.
