4-Inch Solid Brass Eastlake Ball Tip Hinge In Unlacquered Brass

Remodel of a 1930s era bathroom, in a circa 1850 house. Original door hardware was Eastlake style, but badly tarnished and caked with layers of paint. These hinges were perfect replacements in every way, and added a level of ""punch"" to the project.

Very nice looking hinges, but the quality wasn't even - one or 2 pins were out of true/poorly fit, such that even after lubing them with teflon they were tough to extract. I solved the problem by testing the pins with a straight edge, and grinding them to true. Shouldn't have had to due this, quality control could be better. Still, I will buy more, though may see if I can get extra pins along with the order. I wan't sure previous to ordering, but the esthetic works in a 1924 colonial revival house.

Good hinges, some slight casting defects. I will buy more

I'm restoring my fourth house and these hinges came in really handy. They matched the Eastlake style I needed and are as heavy as the originals.
