Alternate use for the Rosette

My wife and I own a Queen Anne Victorian in Southern California. The home was built in 1891 and is on the Historical registry. We have been slowly restoring the home one room at a time. The latest projecr was the ""mudroom"". We incorporated a 3/4 bath with the now. laundryroom. With these old homes detail is everything. When it came to the plumbing I was not happy with the ""cheap"" looking chrome covers for the water inlet pipes of the sink and lav. So, I purchase the door rosettes. I altered them slightly by honing out the center, not by much, so that the rosette would slip over the piping. The door rosettes are now plumbing covers! To alter all three items took me 15 minutes. They look fantastic and provide that detail needed for this home.
Love these door rosettes

I am fixing up my house and trying to keep it true to the style and period during which it was built. These rosettes fit the bill and look great in the house.
Perfect touch ,extra screws a God-send
Comments:
Wasn't difficult to install other than the screws were a tad hard to get the start and that caused the finish to instantly disappear. THANKFULLY there were multiple backup screws included otherwise this wouldn't still be on my door...

I have antique glass knobs from my grandma that needed a little something. These were exactly the ""something"" to complete the look. Beautiful!!
Substantial looking but quite thick
Comments:
Using a pair of these rosettes with a door of standard thickness means that the fluted doorknobs with 3 1/2 inch spindle will not be usable because the spindle is too short. You'll need to order the separate 4 inch spindle (about $4). Ideally, the company should include both 3 1/2 and 4 inch spindles with each order of doorknobs.
Very nice quality. Looks beautiful and feels solid.
