Description

This striking screen & storm door hinge is reproduced from a late Victorian original. Made of durable cast iron, it features a heavy duty steel spring that brings your door quickly to a close and holds it tightly in place. The hinge leaves are surface mounted to the door and the adjacent flat casing, making installation a snap. Choose from a matte black powdercoat or a lacquered antique finish.

Dimensions: 3 1/8" H x 2 7/8" W x 1/8" thick. Overall height including finials: 4 7/8".

Hardware Tip

They look great and work great. I read a few bad reviews. I don't get it, I had no problem. Completed installing them in less then 20 minutes. They have been on the door now for three weeks with heavy use. Holding up fine.

Beautiful reproduction, nice quality

Comments:

Used these hinges on a screen door. They work great with springs that close the door gently. Beautiful finish and good quality screws.

Do not buy

Comments:

Unfortunately a cheap product. One New England winter. One hinge broke, all rusted and pins constantly unscrew. Recommend loctite pins.

Door Swinger

Comments:

Strong strength closure and easy to install,

Excellent product and service

Comments:

Replacement for old hinges. Fit in the existing holes and looks great!

Front porch project

Comments:

My friend and I installed these three hinges in less than half an hour. We both thought the quality was great and my friend is a VERY particular cabinet maker. They were very strong and the finish looked to us to last for years.

Great Repro Hinges for Screen Door

Comments:

Ordered to replace very similar hinges on a victorian style door for a used book shop. Modern hinges just would not have been appropriate for this Carpenter Gothic house.

Great, But

Comments:

Great products, great customer service, but when in rest, these hinges lay flat while most other screen door hinges sold rest in a slight overclose position, thus holding the door firmly closed. The end result is there is no tension holding the door at the full close position, so the door flutters in the wind. This appears to be something that could easily be fixed during manufacturing.

Heavy duty for heavy doors

Comments:

I have very heavy screen doors which were made to look like the exterior 48"" doors. I purchased these hinges to replace reproduction hinges (also available here) which at first the hinges could barely close the doors and later fell apart. These hinges are much much heavier then the other hinges. There is no play in the hinge and the return spring is also heavy duty. The screen door now slams shut and does not jimmy allowing the lockset to work properly. If you have a heavy screen door, these are the hinges you need.

I will be buying more

Comments:

We have not installed the heavy screen doors yet, but these appear to be just what we need. They are heavy duty and appear to have a spring strong enough for the doors.
