Decorative Cast Iron Screen Door Hinge With Acorn Finials

We are restoring our house and these hinges are just beautiful. We are adding screen doors to the front door.

Added a new screen door and these fit nicely with the decor for 1840's

Bought these hinges to replace original antique hinges due to broken spring in one. New hinges present well at first look, but springs were no near as strong as original hinges. Sometimes I have to help door close, not the resounding bang as with the original. Also casting where spring half's mate and rotate not very precise. They look the part as installed but I don't know how long they will function properly, certainly not the century of service like the originals.

Used these hinges on a back screen door. They added nice architectural detail for the doors and are very sturdy for smooth open and closing. Love that they will lock the door open if needed.

This hinge matches the originals in my 1890 Victorian.

We recently put a new screen door on with these hinges and we love the way it looks! However, the door stays open instead of swinging shut like a screen door is supposed to do. I haven't called customer service yet to see if adding another hinge would make a difference (we only have a top and bottom currently) I'm hoping that makes a difference because I love how these look!

I hope to get a refund.

Didn't want to order reproductions because I doubted quality. I tried ordering antique hinges from ebay. Some good ones out there, but the ones I got weren't. Hassle with seller. Ordered these and they're excellent. Probably as good as spring hinges were made 100 years ago.
