Cast Iron Vertical Rim Lock

We replaced an old broken doorknob with this set - it fits well with our 19th century home! (Especially because the door is still set up for latch and has not been updated for modern doorknobs).

Finally after 30 years we have door hardware on all the doors in our house.Tried fixing old hardware we had accumulated over the years but had trouble with the springs. These work great.

Replaced old unit that needed springs I could not find.

The Rim Lock looks similar to the historic locks in my home, but the brass pieces (lock switch, bolt and door closing piece) are a bit unrefined. The original pieces are smooth and slide well and the new pieces are rough with sharp edges. It does the job and provides the historic look for my 200+ year old home.
