Description

This stately neo-classical mail slot is festooned with garlands and floral accents. Reproduced in cast-iron from a circa 1900 original, it's lightly antiqued and lacquered for weather resistance. The cut out is sized for standard letters and requires that larger items be folded.

Dimensions: Exterior and interior plates: 9 3/4" W x 3 1/4" H; Opening in plates: 5 3/8" W x 1" H. Door thickness: Max 2 3/4". Installation on doors less than 2 3/4" thick will require the mounting bolts to be cut shorter.

Hardware Tip

For best performance and to prevent rust, iron and steel hardware should be regularly maintained. After installation check for scratches or chips in the surface and re-coat periodically as needed.

A huge waste of money and time.

The was very difficult to instal, we've had it installed for 3 weeks and it's alreasy rusted, BAD. I am beyond furious.

great look, but would not buy again

Comments:

the price is what got me to purchase this product. the ""flapper"" opens in rather than out so when the wind blows it just blows open. most mail cover ""flappers"" open out.

Great looking, unbeatable value

We ordered two of these and the mail slots came in quickly, are sturdy cast iron and are waterproofed. The letter slots function well (the only complaint I have is the ""letters"" flap gets caught in the open position from time to time, but it is simple enough to move it back.) We looked at real antique letter slots, reproduction letter slots, and found this model to be an unbeatable value.

Looks Wonderful

Love how this enhances the appearance of my Victorian. Had to adjust for fitting since my walls are thinner than the average modern home, apparently. However the measurements were on the website so the adjustments were expected. Love it!

The intero of the product is not finished and the inside panel has no cover.. very nice looking from the exterior of the door easy to install. Really helpful in our business during this Corona Virus lock down. STAY N STAY SAFE

Mail slot quality

These cast iron mail slots were of generally very good quality and sold at a reasonable price. The castings were of good detail and the design fit in well with an Arts and Crafts era decor. I am glad that I found them.

Very happy with the product. It was a great price, and has an awesome finish. I would definitely recommend the product to others. The only complaint, is that I wish the mail slot came with a template (as my existing door slot hole in the door did not match up). Other than that, I was very happy!
