Buyer be aware
Comments:
Solid metal construction. The spring is on the flimsy side and there is no obvious way to replace it. Out of three, one strike plate was very poorly made the other two were marginal; warped, uneven edges, off-center holes, counter sunk holes for screws are unevenly counter sunk. Be aware that you may have to spend extra time either fixing the plates or waiting for replacements and I wouldn't use this for a daily-use application.
Great Product for the money

Just what I've been looking for!
Comments:
The former owner of our home installed a wonderful transom that was held close by weight only, no latch. The transom would loudly slam open with any heavy wind, occurring multiple times a year. We would stick a punchpin in the wood trim to hold it shut. I had been looking for a transom latch at our local big box stores and small local hardware stores with no luck, for many many years. I finally did an online search and House of Antique Hardware appeared - our savior!! Our 100-year old home now has the correct latch - let the wind blow!
People notice
Comments:
These were fitted to transoms that originally did not have latches so it took me two tries to get them install correctly. Other than that one issue they work well look great and people notice them.
Perfect closure for our transom windows

Works great
Perfect for the application they were purchased for.
Comments:
These were used in a 1902 Victorian rehab. The transom hardware was all missing.
PERFECT PARTS
Comments:
The products we used for an old church that we were restoring are the exact same as the old ones that got produced about 50 years ago. part were reproduced with exact authenticie. My owner of property is very happy.
Perfectly Finished, and Adaptable to Other Uses
Comments:
I used these as eye catching ""hold downs"" for deck hatches on my 1920/s styled runabout. The pieces look the part, and folks stop me to ask what they are. I used four to each deck hatch, and there is nothing but praise for them. I like the hinges for solid door hardware, and other classic parts I can adapt. I like the solid feel, good working designs, and prices that are lower than lesser quality ""marine"" hardware.
