The classic and versatile 4-inch distressed ball tip door hinge has been a favorite since the late 19th century. Our authentic reproduction has a loose pin with attached finial, slotted and Phillips wood screws, and heavy duty 1/8-inch thick leaves - just like the originals. Made of solid cast bronze for high strength and durability.

Hardware Tip
Question: How are butt hinges measured? Answer: The height is just of the leaf not including the finials and the width is the total open width of both leaves and the knuckle.

An old house restoration hard-to-find treasure!

We are doing painstaking restorations of 2 historic houses and finding such beautifully crafted, authentic hardware is difficult indeed... and almost impossible in solid bronze! These are so authentic, they come with slotted screws (as whole hearted historic restoration people, we never ever use philips screws!) We purchased these for two doors already and we are so totally happy with them, we are now ordering more for another door.
