Description

Designed to simulate the hand-forged nails of the late 1700's, our decorative wrought head nails feature a three-sided head, and are ideal for authentic restoration or antique effect. Made of solid steel with a matte black oxide coating, they are useful for attaching rough sawn siding, face-nailing flooring, batten doors, paneling, countertops and cabinet work. Rooted in age-old tradition, our wide array of period restoration square nails are cut much the same way they were 150 years ago. The result? Outstanding durability and holding power, designed to last a lifetime. Once you've experienced the quality and performance of our vintage reproductions, they'll surely become your preferred choice for a variety of applications. Made in the USA.

Hardware Tip

Square or cut nails are very durable and have been used for over 200 years. They are hard to pull out because their shape causes the wood fibers to push downward and wedge against the nails.

Amazing Retro Fasteners

Comments:

We bought these to install white boards in our building which was built in 1893. While white boards weren't around back then, we still wanted to maintain some hit of the history. Well done.

Antique B/O nails

Comments:

Made in the USA which is always a plus in my eyes. I am using the nails to face-nail a kitchen floor to give it that ""authentic"" old-time look. The nails are sturdy and wonderful to look at.

Authenic Charm

Comments:

We used this wrought iron nails to become a decorative accent for a wall of cedar wood planks. We painted the wall black and attached cedar planks, leaving 1/4 inch between each plank. We then nailed the wrought iron nails as an accent to tie in black color between each plank. Great rustic detail!

Authentic finishing touch

Comments:

Used to compliment a 19th Century Cupboard reproduction - commission. Worked as expected; a bit tougher to drive but holds up to 25x better than a comparable wire nail and provides the period hardware application. A ""Tip"" for the new to square nails - pre-drill a very small hole and the driving will be better accommodated but know you will compromise some of the holding strength.

I used the nails to give an antique look to 1x12 standard pine boards I used to cover our screened porch floor. They compliment the rustic look of the flooring and have gotton compliments from family and friends. The hardy construction of the nails and their holding power make them perfect for the project
