ANTIQUE HOOKS

Comments:

SCrews were slotted vs. Phillips which made installation more difficult, though I realise that slotted were more authentic. I bought phillips to make the job more productive and filled the heads and painted them.

Great Item/ screws? Well!

Comments:

Readers; So, here we are again; read a REAL review and decide. I got these two items to go into a corner nook at the front door to my 1860 house. I have been re-modeling it to look at least half right. In this house, you walk in the front door, trip on the steps to the 2nd floor, and there is NO PLACE for a closet, hall tree, or the like. Just this stupid, corner nook. SO, I got two, mounted them on a slice of Poplar Wood[good grain] and stuck them on the wall. They look good, are the right size to be seen when you walk in the door, and are strong enough to take the weight of a Maine Winter Coat. The screws that came with it were the right size and length, BUT they were Philips; no big thrill, I countersank the heads and wood puttyed over the holes! Want some GOOD STRONG hooks? Buy a set or three of these. If you mount them on a DIY hall tree: be sure the creation is 'sandbagged' at the base, 04 Hooks alone would overturn most hall trees I have seen. These are GOOD!

Large Coat Hooks

Comments:

There are not many big coat hooks out there and the ones that are, are priced out of sight. I was overjoyed when I ran across these large ones at this price. At first I thought they must be made out of plastic or stamped out of tin cans, but read that they were cast iron. I had visions of reworking the finish to smooth it up to be acceptable ,but was surprised to find them ready to install. They come with a black screw that matches the finish too. that is a nice touch. such a speedy delivery , I didn't loose any time.

Utilized in my garden shed

Sturdy enough for the boys

Comments:

These hooks were place in my mudroom to hold backpacks, coats, & hats. I have four boys and they have stood up to their heavy backpacks and coats for two years now. I will be ordering some for my sister!
