This is in 2 pieces, not just one rod.

Comments:

Because it is only 72"" long, I assumed the pole would be 1 solid piece. I have never had a shower rod that wasn't 1 piece. This was replacing a brass rod that I had in my bathroom prior to gutting. I wasn't there when the contractor installed it or I would have returned it. I am in the market for a sturdy chrome finish one piece 72"" rod to replace it, especially since the hardware I bought to go with it, has 1 side which allows for easy removal of the rod when replacing or washing the curtain and/or liner.
