Description

With a rustic, yet refined presence, our Solid-Bronze Sash Lock suits a variety of interiors. The hand-applied finish ages gracefully, with frequently touched areas exposing the natural shades of the bronze, while other areas oxidize further. The result? An elegant and timeless display of contrasting color variations. Handcrafted from the finest-quality materials, each piece has its own, unique character.

not worth it

Comments:

As a professional window restoration specialist, I wish I could say I love these locks. The solid bronze is hefty in weight, and the finish feels good to the touch. However, the screws' oil-rubbed finish on brass, so one slip of the screw driver exposes shiny brass. The screws are also too short, and the small threads are only suitable for hardwoods; HOAH does not offer screw options, so it's up to the installer to source an appropriate screw. Okay, but these sets are now $100 a piece. Next up is the actual design; the throw on the lock is too short. I had to be very careful to set the hook and latch as close as possible. This wouldn't be a huge deal except, EXCEPT, the ridge of the latch doesn't rise enough to really engage the hook and push down on the sash to clamp them together and closed. They are really only tight on PERFECTLY fit sashes. Anyone who works on old sash knows that they rarely fit perfectly, and adding silicone bulb weather stripping makes this issue even worse.
