I purchased a historic home May 29, 2009, recognized to have been built in 1794. Original structure a 2 story stone dutch colonial. Several expansions. Over time will restore as much as I can. original interior doors...hardware very unique and in terrible shape, missing pieces etc. Found ""House of Antique Hardware"" and found exact replicas of door hardware. Purchased several different pieces and once this phase complete, will re-order hinges to match as well. Small purchase but much appreciated to have found a vendor to accomodate me.

Built a master bedroom, bath closet suite and bought the latches so that all the new doors match the rest of the homes door latches. Very good looking and work great!

Had a bathroom remodel in our cabin. contractor made the door from cedar planks. I ordered the hardware including this latch and some dummy straps. They look great. We will be having 3 more of these doors made.
Incredible reproduction!!!

We are in the process of having a double wall oven enclosed with wainscot on two sides, a door in front, with the iron latch set and strap hinges, making it look like a primitive cupboard or pantry.
Looks Like an Original

My project installing these latch handles was aggravating at first, until I figured out the configuration which worked best for my particular situation. Once I installed one, I quickly installed the other two and they work great. My only advice would be to install the bar which drops into the keeper/strike, very close to where the handle lifts the bar as you need enough lift to get it to go into the keeper and also so you can operate the turn lock. In addition, make sure you install the keeper itself close enough to the edge of the door jamb, so that the bar can fall in easily when operating the handle. If you don't put it close enough to the edge, it may not fall in or you may have to work to get it to fall in. Otherwise, great product with very nice hardware, creating a wonderful ambiance on the passage doors in our 1832 federal style home. I even installed one on the upstairs bathroom door, I loved them so much.
So close to the original

I am so happy I found this site. I own a home that was built in the 40's by a woman who was brought up in New England and built a replica of a true Cape Cod. Every interior door has latches instead of knobs. Over the years pieces have gone missing. I finally found a company that has the almost exact hardware to not only replace missing pieces, but finish off an addition so it now blends into the original house perfectly.
Wow !
