Beautiful, special glass knob - but has a small problem

Rather than return the knob I've been using a bead reamer to grind away the extra glass blocking the screw hole, but it's a longer process than I anticipated. All in all, I'm still pleased with the 20+ vintage-style glass knobs I bought. They are all lovely and so far this is the only one with a problem.

We recently had our cabinets painted a soft white and the old pulls did not go with it. I wanted something sparkly but not a color that jumped out at you. When I saw the clear faceted glass pulls I knew that was what I wanted. Now that they are installed, they look even better! Perfect size, perfect pulls, perfect twinkling when lights hits them.
