Small Cast-Iron Double Hook with Lacquer Antique Finish

A builder asked me to find some specialty hooks where multiples were needed for a double row application in a mud room. The builder was pleased with the product and they are installed. Only thing that surprised me was the small size....even tho' the site clearly says they are 2"" I was concerned that they would not be sturdy, but so far they work fine.

The product itself is great. The hook is well made and solid. However, since the screw is attached to the hook, there are no instructions on what size drill bit to use to pre-drill. If you have an old house with 'old growth wood', that is wood that is super hard, then you will need to use a drill bit basically the same size as the screw otherwise you run the risk the screw snapping off. It would have been nice to have some instructions on the packaging. It seems simple enough but the screw where it attached to the hook is the weakest point and it doesn't take much to twist it off.

I bought these to accompany some larger hooks. The larger hooks were for adult coats and these were for my 4 year old. They are a perfect size for his coats and hats. Although, they are SMALL. Even my four year old said, ""These are too small mom!"" But great for what they are intended for....and the price is fantastic for the quality.

These hooks have an attractive design. I chose them because they had no visible screws. However, one of the four that I ordered broke during instillation. The screw itself is not welded to the hook very well. It snapped off during instillation, even though I pre-drilled the holes. I had to order a replacement. They look really good, but I was disappointed with the durability.
