Description

Made of heavy duty cast iron, this rugged kick plate is ideal for early colonial, Tudor or Spanish home styles. Paired with iron hinges and handles, it gives your door a wonderfully rustic look. The kick plate has a weather-resistant black finish and is easily mounted with the included iron screws.

This kickplate is available in 4 standard sizes: 5 7/8" x 30" (fits 32" doors), 7 3/8" x 34" (fits 36" doors), 7 3/8" x 38" (fits 40" doors), 7 3/8" x 40" (fits 42" doors). All sizes measure 1/16" in thickness.

Hardware Tip

Cast: Process where molten brass, iron or other metals are poured and formed in molds often made of sand. The products made in this manner are often thick and heavy.

Kick-butt kick plate

I bought this back in December, but only just now got around to installing it. It is of such substantial quality that it immediately improved the appearance of my venerable back door, which at this point needed all the help it could get. Thanks. More heft than expected

While the heavy cast iron kickplate looks very authentic and 'matches' the original wrought iron hardware on our 1924 mahogany front entry door (Spanish style home), it is unexpectedly wayyyyy too heavy to use on this door with the existing / original heavy brass hinge hardware. It would have been helpful for the product online description to have included an approximate weight. I ended up instead using the steel black kickplate (same web site/vendor) which looks good (except for a long thin scratch noted when unpacking it).
