Got tired of yelling at the kids to shut the door. Installed these hinges on all external doors and love them. Wish I had done it years ago. Install was fairly easy, but did have to fiddle with each door to make it close right. Doors/Jams are never perfect so don't assume hinge replacement is quick swap out. These hinges do groan a bit, but a squirt of WD40 keeps it to a minimum. Don't expect the spring hinge to be strong enough to latch the door - it will from a full open position, but not from say a 2' open position.

The old self-closing spring on the door to my garage broke and I needed to replace it. Ordered a replacement from Antique Hardware (took a while to get it)and installed it myself. Need to do some trial and error to get the spring tension correct. Has been working fine for about a month.
