15" Commercial Push Plate In Solid Wrought Brass

A pair of beautiful solid brass push plates. An authentic item which was used on antique French doors.The quality is EXCELLENT, [...] can not be better. I will purchase additional items.

There is a story behind this purchase. In a period of grief following my wife's death, I ordered a beautiful and extremely expensive red granite marker for my girl's grave. Unfortunately, the date of her birth I sent to the grave marker company was incorrect. Without a means to correct the problem other then to buy another, I looked for an alternative and the Internet provided the answer. Just cover the error date with a brass plaque and have it engraved with the correct information. The House of Antique Hardware had the perfect answer. The antique brass ""Push Plate"" I ordered, was a perfect fit and I had it professionally engraved with the correct information. The plate was permanently attached to the marker and in fact, the antique patina of the plate enhanced the appearance of the red granite grave marker for my girl who lived with this grieving idiot for 52 years. Thanks, folks for having ""my back"" and saving me $1000's of dollars...

This push plate went on a new swing door with an excellent HouseofAntiqueHardware hinge. The plate is finished beautifully but the darn thing is too sharp around the edges and I know someone is getting cut sooner or later. I'm taking it down this weekend so I can smooth it out.

Nice finish, rich matte-black. Flat-face screws (black) would be better, plus there are 2 too many screw holes in the height, considering the overall size of the plate (it only needs one on ea. side, in my opinion). Overall, good product.

Just renovated a unique 1929 house and needed a way to protect the new and freshly painted metal entry doors from the dog, who politely paws at the door when she wants to go in or out. These magnetic push plates were just the right size, pop right on the door with no muss or fuss, can be easily moved to get them positioned just right, and have given the dog a place to paw while beautifully protecting the doors. They look great and provide a perfect solution to an unusual problem.

I bought the push plate to install at the bottom of the Front Door so the dog would scratch on it to get in and not destroy the paint. The dog, unfortunately, prefers to scratch on the paint rather than on the brass push plate.

Our dog, Jimmy B, signals his desire to enter or leave our house by scratching on the wood doors. The doors were becoming damaged. The push plates(six of them) mounted 2"" above the sill and 1"" from the jamb have provided the perfect solution. The color matches our existing hardware and the finish is not damaged by Jimmy B. They were [...] easy to install.
