Well made, but not working on lapped doors

Comments:

Bought this to add a unique look to a set of doors covering the trash bin on a historic Spanish-period reproduction. Love the design and the quality of the product. I would give it 5 stars except for this: My doors have a 3/4"" rabbit that overlap when closed. Due to the scrolls on the backplates and the location of the screw holes, it is impossible to place the backplates close enough together to allow the bolt to reach the loop. (A smaller backplate that allows for the throw to extend further would be a great option.) I will look for a blacksmith to remove the scrolls on one edge of the backplate (and drill new holes) to allow placing it closer to the rabbited edge. If I cannot, I will use this set somewhere else and regret not using it on the streetscape for others to enjoy. It would be useful to have an image of the bolt and loop in place so the customer can see how close they must be set to each other in order to have the bolt reach the catch.
