A Roaring Good Doorstop
Comments:
My husband and I purchased a house that needed renovating, and it doesn't have a foyer; you just walk right into the living room. I had an antique chest I wanted to place behind the door, but didn't want to worry about the door constantly banging into it. I hate the appearance of hinge-mounted doorstops, and a wall-mount stop wouldn't do any good, in this situation. I'm definitely glad I bought this doorstop! I love the design (my maiden name means ""red lion"", so lions are a special symbol for me), it's attractive when noticed, but otherwise inconspicuous. The rubber bumper keeps the door from make a loud noise (unlike spring wall-mount stops), and I don't have to look at hinge-mounted hardware on our antique front door! The one drawback was that the product doesn't come with instructions, and the bit that screws off the top to conceal the mounting screw was on so tightly, I couldn't get it to come off, at first, so I assumed I was doing something incorrectly. My he-man husband was able to remove the top part, though, so I could install it, so it all turned out right in the end.
Beautiful doorstop

Beautiful unique doorstop. Solid heavy piece that accents door perfectly.
door stop of my dreams
Comments:
I've been looking for doorstops for a 1920's home a while now and these were the first ones I found that were well made and interesting. The appointments in my house are of generally high quality, but I have gotten a disproportionate number of complements of all things for these door stops!

Doorstop perfect for front door
Floor Mount Door Stop

We guessed how far from the outside of the door would be the correct placement, determining the distance from the wall was easy.
Heavy, durable, and gorgeous
Comments:
These are the most beautiful door stops I've ever used. They are the puck/post style that are better for doors, but they do take some planning and precision in installation because improper placement can cause problems (which is true of any doorstops like this). I was amazed at the quality and detail. They are FAR superior to the comparably priced Emtek stoppers we usually specify. This was for my own historic restoration of an 1915 church and parsonage, so we decided to go a little bolder than the usual doorstops that fade away. Even so, these don't stick out like a sore thumb. They look like they are original to the house (which is fairly ornate) and get compliments every time someone notices them. The contractor I work with usually does multi-million-dollar houses, and he was so impressed as well. I just wish they came in multiple sizes. That being said, these work with every door configuration, so that's not a complaint at all. I can't say enough how much I love these! What a wonderful touch to an otherwise inconsequential detail.
Lovely and well made! Would recommend to other purchasers!

Good quality a little fatter than I thought I should have read the dimensions
Perfect for a Victorian accent piece!
Comments:
Nice, crisp detail. A very low cost way of adding just the sort of whimsical architectural element that makes Victorian such a fun style. (There is no need for a brass screw which will not be seen, and is a weak metal that can snap when screwing in to a hardwood floor - you may want to use a different screw).
