Description

Solid brass sash stop bead adjusters are a great alternative to using screws or nails to fasten the sash stops, and allow for easy removal and adjustment. These premium grade fasteners secure the stops and allow easy removal for refinishing, repairs, and periodic adjustment of wooden sash windows should they become difficult to operate due to seasonal weather changes. 3 to 4 adjusters are typically used per stop, depending on the stop length (3 to 4 pairs per window).

These adjusters are press fit into a 1/2" diameter hole drilled in the stop and allow for 1/8" of lateral adjustment. The face is 5/8" in diameter and the depth is 5/16".

Hardware Tip

Stop bead adjusters are a great way to keep your wooden sash windows operating smoothly when they swell or contract due to weather changes. They also allow the easy removal of sashes for painting.

An odd piece for old windows, I was happy and lucky to find.

Just what we needed, except

Only two websites I found sold these, so we ordered some from here as I love the selection on this site. The adjuster washers are perfect and worked just as described. My only issue is the matching screws are cheap and one actually broke in our window frame! It was the very last piece in a long window restoration process, and I'm very disappointed. No idea how we'll get it out without marring the window. Thankfully it was the top one, and the stop is mostly for keeping the bottom sash snug. I would recommend using your own screws.
