Description

Made of solid steel, fire door nails are useful for fabricating laminated fire doors and face-nailing wide board flooring. Rooted in age-old tradition, our period restoration fire door clinch square nails are cut much the same way they were 150 years ago. The result? Outstanding durability and holding power, designed to last a lifetime. Once you've experienced the quality and performance of our vintage reproductions, they'll surely become your preferred choice for a variety of applications. Made in the USA.

Approximate nails per Lb:
158 for the 2" (6d)
100 for the 2 1/2" (8d)
55 for the 3" (10d)

Hardware Tip

Square or cut nails are very durable and have been used for over 200 years. They are hard to pull out because their shape causes the wood fibers to push downward and wedge against the nails.

did exactly what they said they would do, I would recommend

Comments:

The nails gave my 1x12 pine flooring the antique look I was looking for ,the nails secured the wood even better than I though. I had only 1 nail bend in 15# of nails i used and that was only because i hit another nail in the sub floor. I would highly recommend these nails not only for the look but the quality is amazing.

Good product but not for me.

Comments:

I bought these nails with the intent to use them on my old hardwood floors. I was disapointed to find that the nail heads were not all uniform in size.

Hang Ups

Comments:

These nails are just the right ""hangers"" for several old small tools originally from Dad and Grandad. They blend into the barn board background, and look like they've just always been there!

Hitting the Nail on the Head

Comments:

This cut nail is made by the Tremont Nail Company (which I believe is now owned my Maze Nail). I was a dealer in these nails when I had a retail store. They are very well made and true to their historical origins. Tremont provides details on what nails are used for what purposes, and a bit on the history of cut and wrought nails (and brads). If you have a pre-20th century-style home or an actual early home (i.e., pre-wire nail), these nails are a must. Their appearance is correct but they are also highly functional.

Just what was needed to match what we had

The test of time

Comments:

I purchased old lumber and had it cut [...] to install in my kitchen. The house was built in 1890 and is a colonial home.I used theses nails to face nail the floor down. The wood is yellow pine and the row of nails looks great.Love the way it looks.

very helpful and accommodating

Comments:

I was building a last minute project for a friends son wedding, trying to build off a napkin drawing and passed on hear say. Wanted the wrought iron nails, but they were out of stock and the and the standard steel fire door clinch nails (my second choice) were in stock. They even physically checked to make sure they had them and could ship on that day, they arrived as scheduled and with a little gun blueing they were perfect for my project and everybody was very happy with the finished project....
