I own a home that was built in the 1940s and has the original bras door knobs. The latches on several have broken and i searched for many months to replace them. I finally found a well made, quality latch at House of Antique Hardware. The Latch setting does require slight modification but it's easily done with the right tools. The setting for the new latches needed to be routed 1/4 inch deeper in the door. After that, it fit like a glove and works great.

Replacement for an old door latch that finally died after years of poor operation. The new latch was the right backset but required some chiseling to make it fit in the old opening. Once installed it worked perfectly and feels a lot more solid and reliable. Will definitely buy add'l latchsets for other doors as needed. Am also seeing some Craftsman-style butterfly hinges and other items that will be good for some other projects in our 108-year-old house.

I had a missing closet door and was able to find one that matched all my other doors but it had a tubular latch as opposed to mortise lock. No matter. Got this and it works great and I'm probably only one that knows it doesn't match the rest of the house.

Old door needed new latch. This did the job.

These latches are apparently made in the style of older latches in that our handyman had to adjust the holes in the door in order for them to work correctly, but they are beautiful and work great.

I purchased antique door knobs and realized they would not work on my modern doors. With this set, I was able to easily install my antique door knobs.
