Inspired by European hardware of the 16th century, this this handsome thumb-latch entry set is ideal for English Tudor, French Country, or other romantic styles of home. The fanciful back plates and sturdy handles are forged from heavy duty iron with a rustic surface texture. A durable black lacquer finish makes them smooth to the touch and protects them from the elements. Set includes a top quality, American made mortise lock with auxillary privacy function (lock is handed, please specify door swing when ordering).
Dimensions. Back plates: 17" H x 3 3/4" W. Mortise lock backset: 2 1/2". Lock case: 6" H x 3 5/8" W x 15/16" T. Lock face plate: 8" H x 1 1/4" W. Strike plate: 4 7/8" H x 1 1/4" W. The lock includes a 1 1/8" cylinder and 2 standard keys. This set is designed to fit 1 3/4" thick doors. Handing is required for this set. This lock has egress and can cause lock outs if the stop button is not disengaged when exiting the door.

Latch and lock - The door is opened by thumb latch on the exterior and on the interior. On the deadbolt, there is a keyed lock cylinder for use on the outside of the door while a thumb turn is used to lock the door on the interior.
