Didn't work that well
Comments:
I bought 3 of these hinges for a screen door I made for the front of the house of 3 cheaper ones for the back of the house. These did not have enough spring and wouldn't close the door very well. If the door was opened more than 45 degrees it wouldn't close on it's own without a push. Installation instructions would have been nice because you have to remove a bit from the corner for the barrel to rotate. I found that out once I installed them and tried to open the door.
Do not buy this Hinge
Comments:
I used this hinge on our oak screen door, I used 3 hinges. They only lasted about a year and a half. The hinge pin started wearing into hinge, causing the door to sag and start dragging on the porch. Do yourself a favor and don't buy or use this hinge on a everyday use door.
Ornate brass hinges & matching door knob
Comments:
I selected the hinges by look and the matching door knob, the brushed brass look. The man who made my oversized screen doors had never used them before, but they went up easy. We choose 3 hinges per door, as that is what our Victorian home had had at one time. You could still see where the originals had been. These matched the exact holes and went up easy. The man who installed them did chose to use a longer middle screw for more strength. The spring action was a surprise and works great! The matching door knob installed fairly easily and works wonderful. We were surprised of the small size of the knob-about half the normal size but very cute and is somewhat easy to maneuver. I love my doors!
Our Front Door Screen

Once I adjusted for the spring cover everything went smooth ... I have had nothing but compliments ... even had some people ask if I would do their front screen doors
