Description

The simple and straight forward design of our 5-Inch Solid Brass Ball-Bearing Door Hinge with Ball Tips is ideal for your traditional or contemporary home. This heavy-duty hinge is loaded with features found in more expensive models - two ball bearings for extra durability, classic square corners, removable stainless steel pins, and 1/8-inch thick extruded leaves for high strength. The 5-inch size hinge works for large or exterior thickness doors.

Dimensions: 5" H x 5" W, 6 1/4" H overall w/ tips.
Leaf: 2 3/16". Leaf thickness: 1/8".
Barrel diameter: 1/2".
Fasteners: M5 x 1 1/4" wood screws.

Hardware Tip

Question: How are butt hinges measured? Answer: The height is just of the leaf not including the finials and the width is the total open width of both leaves and the knuckle.

performed better than expected

Comments:

replaced two hinges on active section of the front door of our building which was built in 1858. it is used as office space and the front doors get the most use. the original hinge pins had worn out and dropped the door over an 1/8 inch, causing constant sticking to the passive door and difficulty in opening. we were concerned that the hinges would not help much but were pleasantly surprised when even our tenants commented on how nicely it is opening,. i am now ordering 4 more to replace the rest which were worn, but not as seriolusly.

Very nice hinge

Comments:

We are having new doors made for our 1867 Greek revival rehabilitation. The work worker requested 5 inch ball bearing hinges. When I brought them to him he was very impressed. We anticipate they will be perfect for our door assemblies.
