Description

Our 4-Inch Medium-Duty Surface Bolt is traditionally styled with a large round knob and shapely guides. Finely crafted from solid brass, it features tension springs at the guide to hold the bolt open or closed, while a plush felt lining prevents scuffing when operated. Ideal for windows, French doors, and doors, it comes complete with two strikes.

Dimensions. Bolt: 4" L x 1/2" W. Projection: 1". Mounting brackets: 1 7/16" W. Throw: 1 1/8". Strikes: Mortise. 1 1/2" L x 5/8" W. Lip. 1 3/16" H x 1" W.

Hardware Tip

Door bolts are used to hold shut doors, windows, cabinets or shutters by sliding the bolt into the catch or in some cases turning a knob to extend the bolt.

Great company, great products, great service.

Comments:

a solid piece of hardware. the big box piece I replaced was more decorative than functional but this piece hits the spot on looks and function. So glad I discovered The House. Solid brass door stops look amazing, solid forged brass doorbell button looks amazing, solid brass forged swithch plates... well you get the idea. The place is really starting to ""class up"".

I would definitely buy this product again

I'm using these in the vertical position on a set of French doors. They perfectly secure my doors in place so I feel more safe. I was worried that the latch would slip down in the vertical position, but it has a nice mechanism to hold it in place.

Medium Duty Surface Bolt

Comments:

Bought the polished nickel version to replace a light duty bolt that failed. Seems to wokr OK after installation, but it is too early to determine for the long term.
