Description

This sturdy 1-Inch Threaded Dummy Spindle is designed to facilitate fixed doorknobs with threaded shanks of 20 TPI that don't operate a latch. Typically used on closet, pantry, or French doors, it's constructed of solid steel, and features a 9/32" standard thickness.

Dimensions: 1" L x 9/32" thick. 20 TPI. Base: 1 7/16" D x 3/32" thick.

Hardware Tip

If you need a threaded spindle you need to know what the threads per inch are and check to see that the spindle thickness is small enough to fit through the hub of your lock or latch.

Not sure I see any advantage in this being a two-piece design. With no solid mechanical connection between the flange and the spindle (I guess on is supposed to hope for a friction fit?), there's a little movement/rattling in use that no amount of adjustment or tightening will counteract.

So close!

For a solid door, these would work Ok. If there's any damage behind the shaft location, or an existing hole, there's nothing to hold the shaft from pushing back into the door. I've seen these parts before where the swage attaches the two parts, or where they're otherwise tacked together... these are not that way.
