Beautiful entry set and great service

Comments:

Purchased the entry set but had it installed by a contractor working on our house. It was a relatively expensive set but well worth the price. The 25% discount that the House of Antique Hardward provided helped. The entry set is beautiful, solid, and of hgh quality, no skimping on materials. I have purchased other door sets in the past but the metal has been thin and they really don't compare to the quality of this set.

Name fits the product!

Comments:

Replaced doors & hardware in my house built 1927. Oil-bronze finish, looks great, with the same vintage look. Great quality! Thanks.

Perfect for our Mid-Century!

Comments:

We ordered these lock sets for our mid-century remodel and were looking high and low for entry sets that had knobs for both interior and exterior. These turned out to be the perfect set for our home. I can't speak to how easy they were to install - since we had the crew do it - - but I can say that once they are in, they have a nice solid feel to them. Also, 5 stars to House of Antique Hardware who immediately helped out and sent a different back set when we needed it! They were efficient, friendly and understanding. Thanks!!!

Perfect match for my new front door

Comments:

I am very pleased with the quality of the hardware. My carpenter, who specializes in the renovation of historical houses, asked where I bought it as he was impressed with the quality.

Pure Quality

Comments:

It blends in perfect with my original door hardware from 1938. It is even more solid than my existing hardware. it is difficult to install the faceplate perfectly and should be done with patience.

True to period & exceptionally high qual

Comments:

We own a Craftsman-style bungalow. The lock-set was the perfect jewelry for our period paneled door with beveled panes. We painted the outside of the door a rich ultra-deep forest green and faux-finished the interior to match our natural (varnished) chestnut trim. The antique bronze finish on the lockset pops. The overall effect----no one suspects we switched out our front door to meet 21th century safety and energy conservation.

Very nice, heavy and beautiful hardware.

Comments:

The beauty and weight of this lockset are wonderful. By weight, I mean you can tell the knob and plates are nice quality by how they feel in your hand. The finish is also very nice though be careful not to scratch while installing. This is not a mortise lock, so installation is fairly straight-forward. You need to know: a) how to layout; b) use a sharp chisel; c) use a cylinder lock drill kit; d) use a router and template for lock and strike plate mortising. I purchased this entry lock to go with a custom Mahogany door we made for a client living in an historic district. The door was designed with the same architectural details of period doors in the neighborhood, and construction utilized the joinery and methods found in 19th millwork. This door was finished with a marine-grade lacquer to enhance and protect the natural beauty of the wood. The lockset greatly enhances the beauty of the door, is of historic appearance, and as a stand-alone has received many compliments. My only negative comments regard the internal works which are just average. They are interchangeable with any comparable cylinder lock. I discovered this the hard way when too much force was used in turning the interior dead-bolt knob. The spindle plate twisted slightly causing the knob to turn about an 1/8 of an inch before engaging the deadbolt. Fortunately, this was an inexpensive, universal part, and replacement was easy. However, I expected better quality considering the quality of the other components. For a quality entry lock, this is a very good value. You can spend much more and still fail to deliver a lock with such elegance.
