Square and simple in design, this versatile transom latch goes with everything, from Victorian to Mid-Century Modern. The circa 1900 design is made of all brass parts. The latch housing is stamped sheet brass, while the tongue, hook loop and strike plate are solid, cast brass. Choose from 5 popular finishes!
This spring-loaded latch is typically installed at the top of the window sash and operated with a pull chain or pole-mounted transom hook (use transom chains to keep the sash from falling open). The base of the strike is mounted to the inside of the window frame and the catch portion protrudes over the sash, in order to engage the latch.
