5 1/2" Cast Iron Mission-Style Coat Hook in Matte Black

Needed a couple of hooks for my very small front hall. These have a lovely style, large enough to hold a few coats, but slim and trim enough not to overpower the space.

Looks authentic, easy to install.

The original hook I was trying to match is a gold/brass color. The black color will work though. I needed 2 new to match the two intact originals. The screw holes did not match up with the original. I had to drill new ones. The overall shape and size is spot-on.

These hooks definitely did the trick and look very good, but beware that because of the casting, the flat portion of the hook where the screws go is somewhat curved, causing the hook to rock on the base. You have to favor one side or the other when marking your screw holes, and then be sure the same hook goes back into that location. Otherwise, the hooks won't line up the way you planned and could well be several degrees off angle. The other thing to note is that the screws themselves have a light black paint coating on them, and so you will definitely rub off the paint when screwing down the hook. Be prepared to touch up with some matte black paints. The screws are not long or heavy duty, so they work best when used on a dense hardwood, for instance in an oak coat rack.

This is our 4th time ordering these handsome hooks for our mudroom, closets, laundry room and now gifting to our son! My husband mounts them on a beautiful chunky piece of wood (2 were on white painted poplar, and the other 2 racks were walnut and pine)

I used this coat hooks to replace the old, some broken, on my grandparent's cherry hall tree coat reach. They look really good on the restored hall tree.
