Description

Pacific Hardware's circa 1912 Bastile pattern inspired our creation of this striking Craftsman-style arts and crafts push button switch plate in oil-rubbed bronze. We've replicated the unique window-pane design, with its incised border and characteristic hammered surface, in solid, cast brass. An oil-rubbed bronze finish with copper highlights completes the authentic look. 6 3/4-inch x 2 3/4-inch.

Dimensions: 6 3/4" H x 2 3/4" W. Projection: 1/8".

Please note this cover plate has a flat backside.

Hardware Tip

For an authentic period look in your restoration or vintage-style new construction, install black or brown switches and outlets in combination with our reproduction cover plates.

Soild Product, a Little Pricey

Comments:

All and all I liked the wall plates. However the push button switches they sell along with these plates are cheaply made. One thing I noticed, make sure your wall box is perfectly even inside the wall. These plates sit flat against the wall. If the box isn't perfectly even top to bottom there will be a gap between the wall and one side of the plate. The plates are so thick you can't really bend them either. If your home is as old as mine and still has the original metal wall boxes & plaster, you'll probably be pulling them out and refitting them to make these plates fit right.

Stylistic

I want to change all of the switch and receptacle plates in the whole house! Very good investment.

Temndous upgrade: the finishing touch

Comments:

We are rewiring our all original craftsman bungalow. While searching for replacement switches we came across these craftsman inspired cover plates. We ordered one to try and when it came we were so impressed that we decided to use them with original looking push button switches in the entire house. They match the original antique copper hardware in the house. They are taller than most cover plates but this only caused a problem in one place. Even then, the plate could be altered to work. If you think the price is high, just get one in your hand and you will understand.

Treasure Trove

Comments:

Our home is an Arts and Crafts Bungalow built in 1922. We recently painted and I found House of Antiques Hardware which offered the perfect detailed finishing touches. I purchased numerous wall plates and 2 button switches (from the era). I also found our front door lock and a bronze plaque which shows off the front door perfectly.

Very cool, saw these in old mansions
