Just the right fit!

Comments:

I own a summer cottage built in 1888 in Northern Michigan. When the lock on the front door broke, my locksmith said that he could replace it with a modern lock, that would work better. I wanted to find a replica of the old lock since I had already installed a deadbolt and didn't want to have the front of the cottage look too modern. I searched to find just the right fit, so that my door wouldn't have to be re- cut, and this is a perfect reproduction of the lock that was on the door. It fit perfectly in the existing holes on the door and works like a charm! I'm very satisfied! I am not a ""handyman,"" so I hired someone to install it for me.

Just what I have been looking for

Comments:

Base on appearances the lock look great and it worked smoothly. It arrived as a right-hand door lock. No problem, just take the back off and switch it to a left-handed lock. I've done this with other rim locks. However, due to small imperfections, it did not function as smoothly as when it arrived. Some pieces needed just a small amount of burnishing. Now it work fine.

Just what we wanted

Comments:

We are renovating an 1822 limestone farmhouse. Some doors were added over the years with modern hardware and some original hardware had been replaced with modern hardware. These door knobs match the originals and work very well. The added bonus are keys! We will be buying more items as our project requires.

key didn't work

Comments:

The door knob looks great and it the right size for the fittings. The knob works smoothly. THe threaded knob crossbar is too long and requires washers to anchor. The skeleton key didn't move any mechanism and hardly fits in the opening. It couldn't be returned as it was beyond the 20 day limit.

Looks like the original!

Comments:

We have a 125 year old Victorian house. We stripped down some interior doors but the original hardware has been painted over so many times, it was nearly impossible to strip down. We found House of Antique Hardware online and ordered some hinges and door locks with porcelain knobs. They look exactly like the originals. We will buy more as we refinish more of the interior doors.

Love love LOVE them!

Comments:

We ordered 7 of these to replace the mismatched doorknobs in our turn of the century home. My husband, who is a carpenter by trade, installed new solid wood paneled doors and these knobs throughout the upstairs and on our one first floor door. They look fabulous. They work great (both key lock and lever lock work and are easy to operate). It has really transformed the look of our second floor. I love them.
