Description

Dating from the later 19th century, this handsome horizontal rim lock suits Victorian, Craftsman or Colonial Revival interiors alike. Finely crafted from cast iron and available in two vintage finishes, it features mostly brass interior parts for long-lasting quality. Paired with jet black porcelain knobs, it's a period perfect set, ideal for both rustic and refined decors. In addition to the key-operated dead bolt, there is a handy privacy lock (sliding tab on bottom of case). Comes complete with two fancy brass skeleton keys. Fully reversible for right or left handed doors.

Dimensions: Lock body: 4 3/16" W x 3 5/16" H x 3/4" Thick. Keeper: 3/4" W x 3 5/16" H x 3/4" Thick. Knobs: 2 3/8" Diameter. Rosette: 1 7/8" Diameter. Keyhole Cover: 15/16" W x 1 11/16" H. Backset: 3 1/16".

Door Thickness: 1" to 1 3/4". Spindles: Includes 3 1/2" & 4" lengths both 20 TPI and 9/32" W. Use 3 1/2" spindle for 1" to 1 1/2" thick doors, use 4" for 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" thick. Includes an Allen wrench and set screws for mounting knobs to spindle.

Please note: the privacy latch can not be disengaged from outside the room.

Works better than than the worn original antique

Comments:

Had to make a small roundish indentation on wooden door with a file & grinder to accept a raised metal protrusion on the rimlock to make it mount perfectly flush.
