Description

This captivating figural sconce is a fine example of 18th century Chinoiserie style. At the center, surrounded by lush natural ornament, is a charming Chinese man smoking a pipe. Featuring antiqued candle sleeves and a rich, gold finish, this sconce is a lovely addition to your dining or living room. The asymmetrical design is intended for pairing with the matching female figural sconce, and works particularly well on either side of a mantle, sideboard or sofa.

To preserve the authenticity of this historic design, the fixture has been French wired (wiring is external and runs from the base of the candle along the arm, bound with small brass wires or plastic ties). This method of wiring was commonly used to electrify antique candelabra and chandeliers in the late nineteenth century.

Fixture is made of brass and measures 16" tall, 10 1/2" in width and projects 5". This light uses E12 candelabra base bulbs with a maximum wattage of 60W each.

Hardware Tip

For an authentic period lighting effect, use our genuine Edison-style bulbs in your fixture. These carbon filament bulbs are great for exposed sockets and cast a warm, mellow light.
