Description

Our exceptional Windsor pattern 3 1/2-inch iron hinges are some of the most beautiful and finely cast hinges on the market. Introduced by Reading Hardware in 1885, the whimsical aesthetic design is just as fresh and lovely today. Made of solid cast iron and lacquered to preserve the finish.

Dimensions: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" not including ball finials. Leaf thickness is 1/8".

Hardware Tip

Question: How are butt hinges measured? Answer: The height is just of the leaf not including the finials and the width is the total open width of both leaves and the knuckle.

Ayytactive and works well

Comments:

I re-installed a Victorian door in my Victorian house. These hinges replaced modern hinged. I added a little bit of gold highlighting to the Eastlake pattern.

May need to buy more!

One of our original cast-iron hinges on our century home was cracked when we purchased the house. Since I was unable to find the exact hinges online, I bought these similar ones from House of Antique Hardware. The sizing, quality, and weight of the hinges are perfect! It actually looks original and I'm very pleased with how the color and finish closely match our antique hinges (once the rust was removed from the old ones). I may have to buy more to replace the plain, contractor-grade hinges on the newer closets!

Nice reproduction hinge
