Fluted crystal glass doorknob mortise lockset with backplates. The 12% lead crystal knobs measure 2" in diameter and project 2 1/8". The pressed solid brass plated back plates measure 7" tall by 2 1/4" wide. The solid brass lock face plate measures 6" tall by 7/8" wide and the lock box measures 4" tall, 1/2" wide and is 3" in depth. The mortise lock has a 2 1/4" backset. The brass strike plate measures 5 1/8" tall by 1" wide.
Backset: On a lock or latch, it is the distance from the front of the face plate to the center of the knob hub. On the door, it is from the edge of the door to the center of the door knob. Learn about hardware >
Door Set Functions
Latch and skeleton key lock - The knobs turn and operate a latch. A skeleton key is used to lock and unlock the door. Typically found on vintage interior doors that can be locked and unlocked from either side.
